Volunteer With Us

Gear Power WallOur Volunteers Make the Difference

The success of the Lancaster Science Factory depends largely on our volunteers. As a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization with a small staff, we depend on our volunteers to “keep the gears turning” around the museum. The Science Factory is proud to have over 100 volunteers who donate their time week after week to help us meet our goals of offering a fun and educational experience for kids and their families. While a science background is appreciated, our volunteers are not required to have an educational, engineering, scientific, or otherwise related background (although we do have volunteers from those fields). All a volunteer needs is dedication to our mission of working with children to develop curiosity, think creatively and build confidence as they learn the principles of science

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must be age 16+ and may need to complete background clearances as applicable by law. Orientation and training will be provided.  An ideal volunteer should have the ability to volunteer at least 2 shifts per month,  be friendly, have a  positive attitude, and an interest in helping children develop skills in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math.
