Bob Herbert

Maryland native Bob Herbert is director of operations at Lancaster Science Factory.

My role is Director of Operations, working diligently on keeping everything running and operating smoothly.  Daily tasks include managing everything from exhibit maintenance and marketing projects to retail inventory and checking the toilet paper rolls!

The most exciting part of being on the Lancaster Science Factory team is seeing kids learn and be amazed at what they have discovered and accomplished on the exhibit floor.  “Betcha didn’t think you could lift 100 lbs with a single finger did ya?”

My favorite scientist is Nicolaus Otto, who in 1876 invented an effective gas motor engine. I’m a car guy, what can I say!!

Prior to that, I worked in mall management, broadcast radio, auto show production and spent 4 years in the marketing department at HERSHEYPARK.

I am an avid cyclist, aspiring drummer and am restoring a 1969 Buick Riviera.  I reside in Lancaster with my 12 year old daughter.
