Plan Your Visit
Everything you need to know when you visit the Lancaster Science Factory!
Who should visit the Lancaster Science Factory?
- The Lancaster Science Factory exhibits are generally geared for kids ages 7-13 and are the most fun when kids and grown ups play and learn together. Younger children can certainly have fun on our exhibit floor, but will need closer supervision. Some exhibits contain small pieces.
- The main exhibit floor, Maker Space classroom and Castanga Learning Center are wheelchair accessible.
- Members of other Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) museums are welcome to use their membership at the Lancaster Science Factory if they meet Passport Program guidelines.
How long is a typical visit?
Visit length’s will vary. Plan at least three hours to visit every exhibit, but often children will spend extra time at their favorite exhibits, experimenting through play in our test zones, or participating in a workshop in our Maker Space. Admission is good for an entire day, so feel free to leave and return as you please.
Often the Lancaster Science Factory will host special events and educational programs- be sure to check our Calendar of Events to find out what we’re up to next!
Our exhibit hall is an open floor plan so you can move at your own pace however you wish. Maps and guided activity guides are available at the front desk- but aren’t required.
Do you sell food or can I bring a lunch?
In order to keep all of our exhibits clean and in good working order, we do not allow food in the Science Factory. There are several Family-friendly dining options (at various price-points) within walking distance or within a short drive. Please visit the front desk for a list of suggestions that are open during the day and time of your visit!
