Homeschool Programming

Homeschool Sessions

We are proud to be a trusted educational partner to homeschool families across Central Pennsylvania. Homeschool classes are offered at the Lancaster Science Factory on select days during the Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring semesters. Classes offer a chance to engage homeschool students in group learning and hands-on experimentation.

The Spring 2019 Homeschool Program calendar and curriculum is presented by STEM Educator, Angel Kilyan.  Angel joined the Science Factory full time in November of 2018 after facilitating outreach programs and Summer Camps here for several years. Programs are for students in grade levels 2-8.

 

This season, six total lessons will be divided into three separate units which explore outer space, the land, and the sea. Sign up for individual sessions, or enjoy a discount if you join us for all six!

Homeschool families should also consider membership to the Lancaster Science Factory for a considerable savings on general admission. Homeschool groups may enjoy the benefits of our cost-effective field trip packages.

 


Our Homeschool Class Mission

The mission of our homeschool class programming is to innovatively introduce or reinforce mathematical and scientific concepts to students in grades K-8 through inquiry-based hands-on learning. Students will be engaged as an individual or grouped in activities geared toward meaningful application.

In the spirit of the Lancaster Science Factory, students will create various manipulative pieces that they will be able to take home. They may be asked to participate in extension activities to further their knowledge.

All classes are based on the Standards Aligned System of the PA Department of Education. We strive to accommodate students’ individual needs and learning styles.
