Code @ Home

Calling all Cyber and Homeschool parents! Are you interested in adding coding to your child’s learning? The Lancaster Science Factory is excited reprise this coding program for grade levels 2nd – 8th.

Winter/Spring 2020 – Circuit Playground Express

Circuit Playground Express is the perfect platform for students to learn coding concepts or expand on existing skills. Students will start with Microsoft MakeCode tutorials to learn the basics of block-based programming. From there, they will create their own custom LED animations and let their imaginations go wild as they test the system’s capabilities.

More advanced students will have the opportunity to program their Circuit Playground Express with JavaScript and Circuit Python. Each 90-minute class is held in the Youth Maker Space at the Lancaster Science Factory and facilitated by our Maker Space Educator, Chris Blackmon.

A Circuit Playground “starter kit” to take home (one Circuit Playground Express, one USB cord, one AAA x3 battery pack) will be included with each registration. That’s a $30 value!
