Lancaster Science Factory Robotics Camp

FREE Robotics Mini Camps

July 17, 2017 @ 10:30 am - July 21, 2017 @ 2:00 pm

Free with your paid admission

Edison V2.0 Robot

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and the Lancaster Science Factory are collaborating to feature summer “Robotics Mini Camps.”  Mini Camps feature Baxter, a state-of-the-art, human-like educational robot.  These mini camps take place at the Science Café at 10:30, 11:30, 1:00 & 2:00

Baxter comes to the Science Factory through a Stevens’ initiative called Building STEM Learning with Mobile Robotics.  This initiative works to emphasize the importance of technical education and encourage excitement in youth. Baxter, one of two robots currently owned by the college, will be demonstrating processes similar to those used professionally in industry. Four “mini camps” a day will allow up to 15 kids from grades K-8 to interact with the robot. This initiative would not be possible without the support of The High Companies. Baxter the Robot is current on loan thanks to the generosity of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

Additionally, an Edison Robot activity space will allow participants to have a hands-on robotics experience.
