The Force returns at the Lancaster Science Factory’s Science of Star Wars

The Lancaster Science Factory will be participating in the Extraordinary Give, and again this year, we are presenting three events that are out of this world as they host “The Science of Star Wars” on November 12, 13 and 18, 2016.

These big events will feature your favorite Star Wars costumed characters and the chance to engage in the Science of Star Wars at the Lancaster Science Factory’s Science Café!

Saturday, November 12, 1-4 p.m.Lancaster Science - Start Wars1

See members from the Capital City Jedi Knights perform a lightsaber battle. This year they will be joined by Ghost Base, which is the Pennsylvania and Delaware chapter of the Rebel Legion, the premier Rebel (“good guy”) costuming organization as recognized by LucasFilm Ltd.

Sunday, November 13, 12-2 p.m.

Join members from Garrison Carida, local unit of the 501st Legion with special costume characters representing the “Dark Side.”

Friday, November 18, 3-6 p.m.

The Lancaster Science Factory will be offering FREE ADMISSION during this event from 3-6 p.m. and featuring the Science of Star Wars in our Science Café. Try your hand at controlling your inner force while competing in Sensory Warfare and Glow in the Dark Sabers.

On November 18, for 24-hours only, visit ExtraGive.org, make a donation to the Lancaster Science Factory (min. $25) and every dollar you donate will be stretched by $300,000 from the Lancaster County Community Foundation and their presenting sponsors. PLUS, there’s an additional $50,000 in funds we can win just from your donation!

Money raised will benefit the Lancaster Science Factory, a non-profit science and technology center located at 454 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, PA, where we create an environment of learning which helps children develop curiosity, think creatively and build self-confidence as they learn the principles of science and the application of science in engineering and technology.
