2012 Cold Storage Winter Camp!

Registration for Cold Storage Winter Camp has officially closed.

For those that have signed up, our 4th annual Cold Storage Winter Camp takes place December 26-28 & 31, 2012. Send your kids to the coolest camp in the coldest time! They'll enjoy hands on activities, fun demonstrations, and be submerged in the chill and thrill, of science!

Each half-day session costs $25 per child. Reserve both sections on the same day for $45. Or book all 8 sessions for $160. The more you book, the more you save!!!!!! Members also receive an extra 10% off. Children that are attending both morning and afternoon camps are welcome to stay for Lunch Bunch, in which they can eat their own packed lunch, and then enjoy time on the exhibit floors before the afternoon camp begins. Cold Storage Camp is for children age 6-13.

Wednesday, December 26th
Egg Parachutes (9:00am-12:00pm)
Save your egg from a terrifying fall (or two)! Your mission is to design and build a parachute out of basic materials that we give you.

Sandcastle Mania (1:00pm-4:00pm)
It isn't summer but that's no excuse to slack off on your sandcastle building skills! Transport sand, form structures and create the best 'sand city'!

Thursday, December 27th
Pirates 1: Planks, Treasure and More! (9:00am-12:00pm)
Can you survive the pirate challenge? Discover the science of a pirate's life with balancing acts, stormy seas, sight seeing experiments, navigation games, treasure hunts and more!

Pirates 2: Boat Wars! (1:00pm-4:00pm)
Build a pirate ship and compete with the other pirates to find out who is the best captain! Prepare for battle against each other and the 'sea' itself!

Friday, December 28th
Catapults (9:00am-12:00pm)
Design, build and test a catapult! You can use our sample design or come up with your own. Then prepare for battle!

Castles (1:00pm-4:00pm)
Build a castle that can't be destroyed by a catapult! Come up with your own design and then wage war on the other kingdoms. Who will reign supreme?

Monday, December 31st
Junior Detectives (9:00am-12:00pm)
A crime just occurred at the Lancaster Science Factory! But have no fear, CSI is here! Campers will actually detect fingerprints using various scientific techniques. They will identify, analyze and compare evidence and different suspects. Suggested ages: 8-13.

Chem- Mystery (1:00pm-4:00pm)
Make liquids, bubble, fizz and change color! Campers will conduct experiments, observe fascinating results and discover the properties of household products. They will also use their senses and analytical skills to identify our mystery liquids!
