Science is Amazing Festival

  • What: A free science festival at the Lancaster Science Factory: Free admission to all Science Factory exhibits, special science activities, demonstrations and prizes for the whole family.
  • When: March 25th, 2017 from 10am-4pm
  • Where: Lancaster Science Factory, 454 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601.
  • Who: Everyone is invited! Children age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Special science demonstrations and activities will be presented by Science Factory volunteers, area schools, science clubs, universities and Lancaster youth organizations.

The following organizations will be offering hands on demonstrations at the 5th annual Science is amazing Festival:

  • Alvernia University Science Association - Marshmallow launchers
  • Aquaphoenix Scientific - Electromagnets
  • PA Cyber Charter School - How to Code a Mini Light Show
  • TEECA, Millersville University - Exploring Mechanisms
  • Franklin & Marshall College, The Development & Experience (DAX) Center - child-friendly games that show parents the nature of children's thought processes across development.
  • Make717/Thaddeus Stevens - Soldering Zone, Mini Maker Faire
  • Elizabethtown College Chemistry Department - Extracting DNA from a Strawberry
  • North Museum of Nature and Science
  • Science Explorers - Guests will learn about polymers by making a gooey GLURCH mixture
  • Axel Diaz, NASA Space Ambassador - Explore the Wonders of our Solar System with hands on activities about Space and telescopes on display
